Can anyone tell me what Vrishti Pade Tapur Tupur, Tip Tip Tapur Tupur means?

It seems Bengali to me. It means that it is raining and the last 6 words are giving a sound effect of the rain. The sound effect tells me that it is not raining 'cats and dogs' but rather moderate rain/drizzle.

Hi, I just read your post. I asked my Hindi teacher what it was and he said its Hindi and the 'Tip Tip' is the sound of the heart beating.

I would agree 100% with Edward . Your hindi teacher is not really competent ..time for a change ..smile

Maybe he was wrong about "tip tip" but the teacher is very competent as he teaches Hindi and Urdu at UC Berkeley.
